The Victoria Inn at Holkham

The Victoria at Holkham North Norfolk

Writing in the London Evening Standard, Sarah Sands highlights the beauty of North Norfolk’s Holkham and sings the praises of the Victoria Inn, the up-market gastropub/B&B that sits at the end of the main drive to Holkham Hall.

She admits that she has become a Norfolk weekender (who can blame her?) stating that in her opinion Holkham is “one of the loveliest places in Britain.” Wouldn’t argue with her there.

The recently refurbished Vic provides excellent food in delightful surroundings and this article is sure to draw the attention of more Londoners to the joys that North Norfolk has to offer. Hopefully even more will come this winter to enjoy brisk walks (the Vic is dog-friendly) in North Norfolk’s healthy air, afterwards retiring to one of our hostelries for a warming tipple by the log fire.

A double room at the Vic costs from £170 B&B.

If you stay at the Vic walk up into the Park and explore. There is a lot to see apart from the Hall itself. To give you a taste view this lovely video by Douglas Bacon. Don’t feel that you have to get up as early as Douglas obviously did!
